Up to six Felix Scholarships will be offered at each of the three institutions – University of Oxford, University of reading, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London for Indian graduates taking up places in September /October 2009 for (i) taught postgraduate Master’s courses (MSc, MAgrSc, MA, LLM, etc) of one or two academic years: or (ii) Master’s degrees by research (MPhil) of two academic years: or (iii) doctoral degrees by research (PhD / DPil) of three academic years. Not all the above programmes are available at each institution. The Felix Scholarships will cover full fees, living costs, together with a return air fare, and provide additional allowances for books, equipment, warm clothing, and so on. Spouse’s costs will not be met.
Requirements: Indian citizens under 30 years of age on January 31, 2009, the date by which both a completed scholarship application form must have reached Oxford / Reading / SOAS, and the applicant must have been accepted for admission, at least a Bachelor’s level may be considered if they hold a first class degree at the Master’s level. Those who already hold degrees from universities outside India and / or who have already taken up a scholarship to pursue PdD studies at an Indian university are not eligible to apply. Application for a Felix Scholarship can be made through only one of the three academic institutions. Candidates, when accepting a scholarships, are expected to sign a letter to the effect that the undertake to return to their country of origin on completion of their courses of study so as to make a contribution to that country.

Submission: January 31, 2009. Only those candidates who have been accepted for admission at Reading /SOAS by January 31, 2009 Medical Sciences and Philosophy, and January 23, 2009 for all other subjects.
