A choreographer is one who creates dance compositions, and plants and arranges dance movements and patterns for dances. In Choreography, human emotions and human feelings, in their various dimensions, are expressed by making stylized movements. The design and creation of these stylized movements are the works of the choreographer. Dance, movements, languages and compositional forms are used to express ideas in Choreography. Choreography is the art in which ideas are expressed by the boby and by the synchronized movements of several bodies. Moods are set, stories are told and ideas and concepts are conveyed by a choreographer. In so doing, a choreographer arranges lights, sound and movements in an adroit manner

One can enrol oneself in professional dance courses for which examinations are conducted at Diploma, Graduation and Post graduation levels by several institutions, colleges and universities, One-year and two-year Diploma courses in dance are also available at various institutions and schools of dance. Various short-team courses in dance are also available.

The minimum eligibility criterion to pursue a course in Choreography is the successful completion of 10+2 in any discipline. The basic requirement for doing a course in Choreography is talent in and penchant for dancing. Several institutes admit students based on these criteria only
