Dairy science and technology deals with production ,processing and supplying of the milk and milk based products.The Dairy industry produces a range of milk products-milk,butter,cheese ,ghee,powdered milk,yoghurt etc. India is largest producer of milk and second largest producer of the milk products in the world.
There are some process involved in dairy operations
Procurement this includes milking the animal and collecting the milk at he various centres and storing and transporting to the dairy or processing unit
Processing this involve cleaning ,pasteurization ,and homonisation of the raw milk for packaging and storage
By product processing –this is the stage where by products such as milk powder , butter , cheese , ghee, malted foods and ice -cream are made
packaging involves storage in appropriate containers to ensure that products reach the consumer in excellent condition .

there are number of the Universities that offer degree and diploma courses in Dairy Technology.Specialization is offered at Master level-dairy technology,dairy farming,dairy microbiology,dairy chemistry,dairy quality control, dairy genetics and breeding and many others.
Eligibilty

candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with chemistry ,physics , mathmatics, English or with physics , chemistry, biology, agriculture with mainaimum aggregrate of 50% marks
